Since this bug likes forests, we left her in a woodland. Woodland, the city, that is. Hope she sees more bugs like her.

I placed the lady at Hairy Hill on 2/17/03, so it was found and taken the following day. Sorry about the delay. in getting this out; computer troubles. Also, I have photos to upload. Later, I guess.

    • Lady at Waimea Nature Park Waimea Nature Park is a living garden displaying many native Hawaiian plants.
    • Lady at Ka'upulehu dry forest Ka'upulehu has one of the best remnants of Hawaiian dry forests any where in the Islands.
    • Lady at Seymore Gardens Seymore Gardens has a wide variety of native Hawaiian and exotic plants; it operated by the Kona Outdoor Circle.
    • Lady at Hairy Hill with Natural History Class Hairy Hill is a cinder cone that stands in the Saddle between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa above the surrounding lava flows and holds a nice sampling of native Hawaiian forest trees and shrubs, some endangered.

Took this one from the Hairy Hill cache on the Big Island. Contacted the last guardian, but didn't hear back for a week, so I'm logging that I grabbed it from him.

I found Lady "Travel" Bug in Above Waipio geocache on 1/10/04 which is located on the East side of the Kohala Forest Reserve (Hawaii Island). I took her to the Pu'u O Umi Natural Area Reserve on the W. side of that forest reserve to show her an example of high quality Hawaiian Rainforest. Then I took her to a native plant nursery to show her the propagation of native Hawaiian plants and photographed her there. Next, I showed her a garden nearby and photographed her on a pink ginger plant. Before I send her on, I want to take her to the Pu'u Wa'awa'a -Ka'upulehu dry forest to show her some fine examples of Hawaii's dry forests. More later.

Ladybug (Lei-dy Bug as she is now known in these parts)TB has had quite a vacation on the big island of Hawaii. Visited rainforests near an active volcano and now is enjoying the view of a spectacular valley on the northeast corner of the big island. A photo of her will follow in a few days. 4Benz.

Found Lady Travel Bug in her first resting spot. As we are on our way to the Big Island of Hawaii, we thought the lady would like to go to a garden and forest mecca! Look for her to show up in about 2 weeks, then you will have to call her "Lei-dy" Bug. Will send pictures from her vacation. 4Benz of San Diego.
