Hallo, ich bin Slate Immenrath. Ich starte heute meine Reise nach Glasgow, ich möchte an der nächsten COP teilnehmen. Mein Freund Quercus geht zeitgleich an den Start. Wir sind gespannt, ob und wann wir unser Ziel erreichen.

Slate und sein Freund Quercus

Ich komme aus dem Rheinische Schiefergebirge. Als Tonschiefer wurde ich einst abgebaut, um die Mühle von Immerath vor Wind und Wetter zu schützen. Das habe ich von 1631 bis 2018 erfolgreich gemacht. Leider stand meine Mühle dem Tagebau Garthweiler im Weg. Es gab zwar Pläne, mich und die Mühle zu retten, durch eine Nacht und Nebel Aktion sind wir leider abgerissen worden.

Jetzt reise ich als ein #SteinDesAnstosses um die Welt.

I come from the Rhenish Slate Mountains. I was once mined as a slate to protect the Immerath mill from wind and weather. I did this successfully from 1631 to 2018. Unfortunately my mill stood in the way of the Garthweiler opencast mine. There were plans to save me and the mill, but unfortunately we were torn down by a night and fog action.

Now I'm traveling around the world as a #SteinDesAnstosses.
