You've discovered ONE of my Dad's THREE puppy dog travelbugs! My name was BUDDY, and my niece is LEXI, and my other niece was RUSTI.
The reason I am here is to hopefully try to find homes for my puppydog peers that may be in similar situation like I was. Lexi, Rusti, and I all have travelbugs... with Dad's help, of course.
-
I would like for us to travel the country and visit rescue organizations or local SPCAs.

!!!! Please take a PICTURE of my travelbug with the critters at the rescue group or SPCA and post it !!!!
You may even find a new best friend, just like my Dad and I did!!
Here's our story, as told by Lexi (and Dad)...
Hello I am Lexi, I am a 3 year old Golden Retriever mix. My bday is April 1, 2011. I met my Dad through an organization called Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue in Raleigh, NC. My club name was Kerrigan, but My Dad and I decided we like Lexi better. So I will go by that. The first few years of my life were a little rough compared to now. I lived in a kennel and didn't get out much. I was then dropped off at a shelter. I later learned I was almost killed just because I didn't have a place to live. I was one of the luck ones at the shelter. Some of my cell mates were not. A lady came and got me and took me to find a new home. She was with the Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue. They have a web page.. it is: www.goldenrescuenc.org/.
This is where my Dad and I connected. My Dad was a foster Dad, but once I moved in, we both knew we were going to stay together. Now I go on long walks, and my Dad lets me lead the way in the morning and evening. We can go from 1 1/2 mile walks or up to 2 mile walks twice a day. It is so much fun not being in a kennel.
I had a sister, sort of, but she passed away before I could meet her. Her name was Rusti, and she was a golden mix too.. but a red head. I have heard that she and my Dad did everything together, much like my Dad and I do now. Dad and she found each other though a different organization called the SPCA. They too have a website: www.spcawake.org.
I recently lost my Uncle Buddy. I only met him a few times, but he was a very friendly companion. He lived at my Grandparents' house. He was homeless too, and somehow found my grandparents and never left. Who can blame him? They love to feed us such great food, and there is lots to do there. I was sad when I learned he passed... Both my Dad and Grandparents were sad. Dad said these little worms killed him. He called them heart worms. He makes me take a monthly pill so that I do not get them. They are really bad news. The pill I take is very tasty, and I don't mind it at all. I have been tested and luckily I do not have them. Please have your furry friends tested and give them this treatment. They will love it, too.
Well the reason I am here is to hopefully try to find homes for my peers that may be in similar situation like I was. Rusti, Buddy, and I all have all travel bugs... with Dad's help, of course. I would like for us to travel the country and visit rescue organizations or local SPCAs. Please help out my K-9 friends with a little donation or a bag of food. Before I found my Dad, I had a tough life, and these organizations helped both me and my friends have better lives. They need all the help they can get. Also please take a picture at the rescue group or SPCA and post it. You may even find a new best friend just like me and my Dad. You can also make donations to either group I written about on their websites. Also, please remember to have your furry friends tested for heart worms and give them their preventative treatment. Here is more information on heart worms: www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/canine-heartworm.html
