Current Goal

FLAT TIRE is competing in the Race and the goal is to travel to Texas, then Florida, then Maine, then Minnesota, then Washington and finally California. Please help FLAT TIRE circumnavigate the conterminous United States, making these required "stops" along the way.

About This Item

Flat-Tire.jpg

These are some of the rules:

1. Travel bugs will follow a counter-clockwise route around the US. The required stops are at lease one cache placement in the following states: California (starting state and cache), Texas, Florida, Maine, Minnesota, Washington, and back to the starting cache IN THAT ORDER. The bugs must trace the states in this order so any skipping of these goal states means backtracking. All other states and countries can be skipped.

2. Bugs must be physically placed in a cache in each state visited. No "I was here with the bug" logs, someone else has to retrieve the bug after placement.

3. After the start, no TB racer owners can handle ANY of the racers. The actions of third parties are not under the owners' control. They have a long race to run, so negative interference is not encouraged. Please be considerate and fair to the racers and help them on the way.

4. After the start, no more than two race bugs may be placed in any given cache.

Please see the race web page for more details: http://users.rcn.com/brad.32/geocaching/tbrace.htm

Please help FLAT TIRE to get around the country as fast as possible and before January 1, 2005.

Normally, a FLAT TIRE is something everyone wants to avoid, but in this case, moving FLAT TIRE quickly to its next destination will certainly bring you good luck.

Discovered it. Thank you for sharing.

Retrieve It from a Cache 12/27/2004 Redd-in-AL retrieved it from Hoover Hideaway Alabama   Visit Log

Picked this one up assuming it needed to go to sunny Florida. Instead, I see that it missed Texas. Since I am not heading west anytime soon, I will relocate to a TB hotel to help it get picked up quicker. Good Luck Flat Tire!

I actually came across this bug again in a different cache from that in which I placed it on 10/23. It was not logged into the cache it was in, so I'm grabbing it from where I dropped it and logging it into that cache.

Looks like he skipped Texas so I will move him back WEST.

Finally got this one out. Looks like Flat Tire is out of the race- after being MIA in the Bay Area for 6 months and getting taken 500 miles past his first goal, I picked him up. I then lost my GPSr, so he sat on my desk for quite a while.

Should have read the note first on which direction it's going- it may be a while before I go any further west. Worst case is I'll just drop it back in the same cache...
