Good Bye Ma!!! Mahalo to all my friends that helped me get closer to finding my mother. My Mother, Honu the traveling sea turtle, was lost!!! I needed to go to Seattle, WA to find her. She was lost in a cache (GOT CHANGE FOR A SAND DOLLAR?), which was very rudely treated. I believe she is lost for good after searching for over 2 years.
I am in morning and need to be near bodies of water. Please post your pictures of me with your family near lakes, ponds, rivers, oceans and "watering holes"
Mahalo and Aloha,
Harry, Honu II, the son
The green sea turtle or "Honu" is revered in Hawaii as a family guardian or "Aumakua". She is a very gentle herbivore and is an endangered species that is on the road to recovery. There are many personal encounters these days which was unheard of just a dozen years ago. The Honu are fast becoming an important symbol of family and aloha, with their images being seen in logos and commercial artwork throughout Hawaii.
Honu live their entire lives in the ocean, traveling and feeding as far as 2000 miles through the Hawaiian island chain. The females return to the same beaches they hatched from to lay eggs.
We hope you can share your family fun with Honu.
