Large coin with lots of heft. 1.75 inches 3.5 mm satin silver and polished gold. 1000 coins minted,.The front of this coin has lots of clear epoxy work over slight 3-D and matte enamel. This coin has two colors of metal. The medallion shows two cachers hiking with mountains in the background and the state flower (Columbine) in pastel enamel. There is a tree that stands out with nice 3-D work in gold metal. The reverse has nice background metal textures and the medallion shows the state flag in matte enamel. Nice state coin.
Info on the coin: As in the previous year for the first "Colorado Geocoin", a call for participation in the design of the new geocoin for the state of Colorado was launched in the geocaching forum by cacher Team_Talisman aka Dave, a member of Geocaching Colorado (GCCO), in April 2006. Just one week later, the same cacher opened the pre-order phase of the "Colorado 2006 Geocoin" in the forum. Surprisingly, there were no reactions. Maybe the discussion took place on other geocaching forum pages. At the beginning of June, satin nickel/polished gold "Colorado 2006 Geocoin" was released in an edition of 1000 pieces.
So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. GL
