After completing 6 Geocaching 101 sessions with an eager group of homeschoolers from Waterdown, Ontario, Canada, the girls chose this cute little fella as the escort for their travel bug tag. They want him to travel, travel, and travel some more (maybe even farther than the boys' Orange Sports Car TB). Some of the places the girls would like to see Armand travel to are . . . England, Africa, Mt. Everest, and New Zealand.
Please do not keep him. He wants to see many places and have many photos taken of him on his adventures. Place him in geocaches where the D/T are not too high, as he is just a little guy.
The girls would also like to see Armand find his way back home again, and be placed in a geocache in Waterdown, Ontario, Canada.
This little Armadillo TB, Armand is racing the boys' Sports Car TB. Check out the boys' TB here -

"Armand" (as he was so aptly named by VFRgirl) is a small gray armadillo attached to a travel bug tag. He is happy to escort the TB tag safely to many geocaches around the world, all while enjoying the sights and sounds along the way.

I dropped Armand off at a Travel Safe House earlier today. We were both a little sad that we were parting ways but this will give him a chance to visit other areas. He was also disappointed that there were not any other travelers in the house at this time. I attached a couple of pictures that show his temporary home and the view he has from the windows. Hopefully Armand will quickly move along and will be albe to meet some of his objectives.

Saw Boy asked me if I wanted to help him solve the puzzle to see what was required to get Mission GC, Souvenir #2. I took one look at the maze and told him he was on his own, figuring if I ever entered that maze I would never come back out. After he figured out what kind of cache was needed I told him I would be happy to ride along and help find it. I think I spotted it a couple of seconds before he did but was afraid he would throw me in the river if I said anything. One of the pictures shows a mural of the Bellevue War of 1840. The other one shows the Lock and Dam on the Mississippi River at Bellevue, Iowa and was taken from the viewing area above the cache.

This afternoon Saw Boy took me to this cache which is the closest one to his home in Dubuque, Iowa. Than he took me to a couple of overlooks to see some of the area. The "Dubuque" picture is looking north, up the Mississippi River and shows the downtown area. The "Monument" picture looks past the Julien Dubuque Monument and shows the Mississippi River just south of Dubuque.

Saw Boy and I got out for awhile this morning. After the rain last night and the light mist this morning I was happy to be carried. I didn't even like thinking about having to walk through the wet grass.

I agree with Saw Boy that it was nice to be able to get out and stretch our legs after sitting for thirty hours on the train. However, he has long legs and it is hard to keep up with him. It was nice that he was willing to carry me most of the time.

After Saw Boy and I got on Amtrak yesterday morning, we had an enjoyable ride through the mountains after the sun came up. We both caught a few winks while it was still dark. At Grand Junction, CO we got lucky and Amtrak stopped with our car right in front of the store, so we got off to get an ice cream bar. I told him he could have it all but now wish I had taken a small bite. From there we continued on through the mountains, through Moffet Tunnel and down to Denver just before sunset. Just before leaving Denver Amtrak coupled on to a couple of private cars to take on to Chicago. Than we both got to sleep across eastern Colorado and Nebraska. At the Ottumwa, Iowa station, Saw Boy pointed out the old steam locomotive that was setting behind the depot. All I got to see was the tender but he showed me a picture of it. See the attached picture. After Ottumwa, our next stop was at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa where we got off the train. After Amtrak left, we made a quick stop at this cache, which was the closest one to the station, before heading up the road to Saw Boy's home.

Taw says that this is the last cache we will all visit together before Saw Boy and I get on Amtrak tomorrow morning. Than she told me we would have to be up and moving at 2:00 in the morning to get to the staion in time to check in and catch the train. He plans on sneaking me aboard in his geocaching bag.
