R2D2’s mission is to seek any geocacher or cache in need of help, under extreme distress or at least put a smile on someone’s face and mind for long as they have him.
"Artoo-Deetoo" is a robot in the Star Wars. He supports Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in their ongoing adventures. The name is said to derive from the movie American Graffiti. Sound editor Walter Murch asked for Reel 2, Dialog Track 2, in the abbreviated form "R-2-D-2". In Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, R2-D2 is aboard the Tantive IV, along with Princess Leia. When fired upon by an Imperial Star Destroyer, Leia inserts in R2-D2 a data disc containing the plans of the Death and a distress message to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
