Geodyssey

Everyone who logged a "Discovered It" note on this travel bug has solved all of the puzzles in the Remote Challenge of the Geodyssey puzzlehunt.

The solutions to the first seven puzzles in this challenge each reference a different benchmark listed on geocaching.com, all of which are located in Broward County, Florida, near the city of Fort Lauderdale. Completing this challenge requires searching the log entries of all seven benchmarks.

Hurray! What a fun set of puzzles! I got all the way to the final puzzle back in February before getting stuck. School then took over, and this puzzle had to wait. Now that school is done, I see that there are hints on the pages, and I had the realization of what I was missing * doh *. I'm so happy to reach the final, and many thanks to ePeterso2 for setting up this wonderful challenge!

Glad and, at the same time, sad that this journey is complete. We were stuck for a while on the later puzzles. After a flurry of inspiration we made it to the final puzzle. In the end it was Dawnn that got us nudged in the right direction. Congratulations to all that completed the challenge. And a big thank you to Eric and all who had a hand in putting this together. We thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles and challenges.

Thanks for the challenge!

I was enlisted late in the process to assist another geocacher with one of the puzzles, and so arrived at the final puzzle and solution without having done some of the puzzles that led up to it. As a result, I did not feel that I could log the TB as "discovered" at that time. Three weeks later, I finished working through the 15 puzzles (including re-solving a couple, as a result of misplacing my notes!), and got to the final page again, and can now log the discovery.

Great series of puzzles!

Had a great time working through these with fmoraes over the last few days. Thanks for all the fun!!!! Also thanks to teamajk for posting Geodyssey (GC5CJ31) as the Puzzle of the Day for 3/25/2016. Quite the journey indeed. Now to await the rainy day that will initiate my return to the "Hidden" puzzle section of the Geodyssey...

At Last! w00t!

There were many MANY times when I thought I could not figure out something... somethings I never understood, but left to simmer in the brain cells pulled little miracles out of thin air and was able to keep plugging on. The final almost made me cry like a leetle gurl - how many times was I going to see those words. (evilness is afoot!)

This has taken weeks and weeks... stopped to take a vacation, and solve the Puzzle 101 series in the middle... then remembered the deadline. Whew!

Thanks for the mind benders!

Whoo hooo!!! What a satisfying challenge! I have been working on this for weeks, and I didn't really think I would finish, but tonight I got to the end. I needed a nudge in the right direction a couple of times, but now I feel so smart and clever. Eric, you have an amazing mind! Thank you for designing such a fun, well-put-together series of puzzles, and thank you for taking us on this adventure. I learned many different things on the journey, and I have more confidence to try different puzzles. I will be tackling the Puzzle Solving 101 series next. Thank you, thank you!!

I stumbled upon the Geodyssey challenge totally by accident. For some reason, I felt compelled to give it a try. Once I started I could not stop. It became an obsession at times. Yes, I needed a little help when I got near the end. I never really did puzzles before but now I feel like I have received a diploma for puzzle caches. Ep Thanks for all the fun and puzzling times during this hunt. I would love to get the actual cache in hand but won't get that close--I will only get to Orlando this June but no further south. Hopefully it will be available in years to come.

I have had a great time working the Geodyssey puzzles. I discovered them on the evening before my birthday in February, and it felt like the best birthday gift ever. I made quick progress through the first 12 puzzles. I absolutely love Puzzle 13. I gleefully worked through it until I got stuck on the second-to-last step. I carried it around with me everywhere, knowing an idea could pop into my head at any time. After a week of that, it eventually found its way atop a bookcase, coming down once in awhile for a session of wistful pondering. Then came the (belated) Leap Day hint and, "What!?! I already tried that so many times! I must have looked straight at it again and again and didn't see the answer!" Happily solved, I quickly finished the rest of the set, up to the last step. Once again, I was stumped. It took weeks until I found the link to the final. The key that unlocked the door for me was to apply Occam's Razor: the simplest explanation is most likely to be the correct one.
Thank you, Mr. Peterson, Master Puzzle Artisan, for opening my eyes to a world of puzzle types I had never seen before. My favorites were the more visually oriented ones, numbers 1, 2, 9, 11, 13, and also 12 because of the music. Speaking of which, in my belated Leap Day email, I forgot to mention my favorite Jonathan Coulton song. I'll put it this way: doing these puzzles often made me think that if these puzzles could talk, they would chant, "All we want to do is eat your brains!"
