Chirp Chirp, and Hello!!
I have had a nice vacation, and now I am ready for my next mission!! My first mission was to take a vacation at my owner's sister's cache, and I made my way from Iowa across a few states to Indiana to do so! It was quite nice and relaxing there, but now I'm ready to flap my wings and see some new places!
I am the state bird for Iowa, New Jersey, and Washington. I've been to Iowa, but I'd love to see New Jersey and Washington State someday, and then maybe head back to Iowa to check on my homeland. Who knows where else I'll go? I have a lot of years left to see the world! Did you know that as of 2007, the oldest known American goldfinch was 10 years and 5 months old???!!! Geez Louise!

The Eastern Goldfinch is the state bird of Iowa, as well as New Jersey and Washington! Wow--talk about a bird that gets around! I'm a pretty handsome little fella....bright yellow in the summertime, with black and white wings and a jaunty little black cap. I enjoy thistle seed, sunflower seeds, and long walks (flights?) in the country. Maybe you would like to join me on my travels!
