A Peyton Manning football card

     I have been fortunate enough to see Manning play in person each of his years with Denver:

2012 - vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Denver, CO)

2013 - vs. the Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City, MO) - my son's first NFL game

2014 - vs. the Buffalo Bills (Denver, CO)

2015 - vs. the Minnesota Vikings (Denver, CO)

     I remember the vibe outside of Sports Authority Field at Mile High that first season in Denver.  The walk up to the stadium from the train was/is awesome!  Green chile burritos, musicians, vendors, fun, fun, fun!  Everyone there was so excited to have  Manning (finally over Tebow-mania, realizing Peyton could still play after neck surgery and rehab).

     As I looked for a cheap t-shirt to remember the occasion, I suddenly heard a man behind me, selling shirts out of a box, yelling, "Manning t-shuts!  Get ya Manning t-shuts!  'Peyton F-ing Manning' t-shuts!"  And that's what they said!  I laughed my butt off because I couldn't believe it and thought about buying one, but I thought, "I won't be able to wear that anywhere I go in public."  I bought a different shirt from another nearby vendor.  (This was an additionally great experience because I witnessed Manning single-handedly, from behind center, quiet the cheering fans in the stadium who were doing the wave because they were so loud the offense couldn't hear the snap count.  Manning pointed at the front of the wave, waved his hands and arms down a few times, and the whole stadium grew silent!)

     My son loves that story!  When I took him to the Kansas City game in 2013 (another awesome place to go to a game!), he starts tapping my shoulder, saying, "Dad!  Dad!  Look!"  There was a Denver fan, tailgating in Arrowhead's lot, wearing the very shirt from my story.  My son and I laughed.  For Christmas that year, I surprised him with a suitable substitute I found... a "Peyton Freaking Manning" tee!  His eyes got so huge when he saw it!  Now, whenever he comes out of his room with it on, he has a big smile on his face.

     This may be Manning's last year in the NFL.  Thought I'd send this out to see how far it could go.
