We have traveled from the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia to the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. Today we are hiking along a trail loop called the Pink Beds -- named for the colorful pink rhodedendrons and mountain laurels in the area. Unfortunately its too early for them to bloom today. The Pisgah forest was originally owned by the Vanderbilts and is where the first forestry school was established in the US. This trail is near that first school. Found a nice stump cache to place your little girl in. Enjoyed moving her along.
