I think we found the fallen bug. This makes sense as to why it was on the trail. We found this site and are not sure what to do next.

My apologies here. My son found this travelbug and we took it. Unfortunately, it must have fallen out of his pocket on the way back to the car as we couldn't find it. Hopefully, someone will find it in this park and know what it is. Sorry again to the owner.
