Current Goal

My mission is to visit the homeland of my ancestors - I want to roam free in the Savannah of South Africa, but then I'd like to come again to Cheshire in the UK. Please find me a geocache away from Lions for my stay.

Found my old Friend Zak again by chance. See he had been sitting here for over a month, so thought I would save him.
Will drop him somewhere next week.

Found him in Cape Point National Park looking quite content.
Will try to take him for a trip to Table Mountain from where he might hopefully head inland toward family.

Africa can be a dangerous place, and I fear Zak has fallen victim to a hi-jacking, as often happens in SA.

Only the owner can help save Zak the Zebra from this prison, by solving the following clues to reveal the co-ordinates of ZZ. Once you have the co-ordinates solved, you will need to contact a local geocacher, and give him/her the co-ordinates to rescue Zak from his hiding place). Zak is being held at:

    S AB° CD'EF
    E GH° IJ'KL

A – I have hidden a fairly poetic cache with great views of Table Mountain over the bay. How many stones are “blocking the way” to the cache.

B – In May 2000, the Clinton Administration removed a GPS signal degradation called Select Availabilty. On what date in may after this was the 1st cache- precursor placed near Portland, Oregon?

CD - Impendulo ibhalwe nge siXhosa ukwenzela ikuphazamise ngama shumi amahlanu anesihlanu.

E – Last year I went to Thailand, where my lack of geocaching skills was evident. How many days did I stay in Railay – One of my favourite spots in the world?

F – One of my funniest cache entries I’ve seen was written by Toron, after finding the cache called “The tomb”, by Jim Beam & St. Pauli Girl . When he tried disastrously to get back to his car, how many feet high were the reeds and cattails?

GH – Your travel bug is currently being held prisoner close to robben island, where Nelson Mandela spent a lot of time in prison. How many years did he spend on Robben island? Interestingly, he was also born on GH July 19GH !!

IJ – Joseph Keller wrote a book called “catch IJ” – fill in the I and J.

Please note that it is not my intention to keep the TB out of circulation, but rather to give the bug owner a bit of a challenge, and allow him the chance to get involved in helping his bug on the way. I will be glad to assist with any clues if needed, and if the owner cannot or will not help his TB, I will be glad to release Zak at the owners request.

Also, once you have the co-ords, rather run them by me first before sending anyone on a wild goose chase.

    Good Luck

Zak the Zebra has reached South Africa, the home of his ancestors.
Not quite the Savannah he hoped for, but definately one step closer. Meanwhile he can enjoy the NATURAL BEAUTY of Sandy Bay :-)
We wish him well on his travels, as he is visiting a beautiful country.

Heading off down south at the weekend, so hopefuly we can get Zak closer to the home of his ancestors. (A lot closer I hope) :)
