About This Item

The custom of giving a Love Spoon is a craft tradition in Wales and originated in the 17th Century, with the oldest surviving example of a Love Spoon dating back to 1667. Given as gifts of love and affection the giver would show his skill by carving different symbols in the wood with the heart shape meaning 'I love you'
