I'm telln' ya. Traveling with Sammy in my briefcase has not been pleasant. He sure is a cranky snake. I would no sooner get situated in my seat on the plane or start a business meeting when there would be a rustling and hissing noise. That can be really hard to explain to the security people at the airport!

Finally I had had enough today. I was going to set him free at the Old Water Well cache -GCM1V8- so he could slither around with some new friends. In fact we saw plenty of snake tracks in the sand and even a snake skin baking in the sun. But, we did not find the cache. I looked under almost every rock. But, there were a few I was scared of (recalling my fright last week).

So, I decided to hold onto him for a while 'till I find another snake-friendly cache. But, the activity at the well had apparently really agitated Sammy. He was becoming uncontrollable and I worried he might break free from my flimsy bug bag at the hotel. Can you imagine Sammy slithering around the lobby with the tongue action?

Luckily I found another cache really quick. It was no problem getting him out of the bag. But, I'm afraid there was another round of snake wrasseling this time in the sand before I got the upper hand and stuffed him in the cache and under a rock. I sure hope he calms down before the next innocent geocacher opens the lid of this one.

Note to self: look more closely at the cache contents information BEFORE sticking my hand in some dark crevice.

Good luck with your travels Sammy.

Well, today I sure had a fright! I thought this was going to be an easy cache to crack. The coords -GC13MTB- took me to a deep dark woods where there lay an old mail delivery truck all rusted out and covered with moss. (Kind of creepy.) No worries. I'm a big strong guy and I'll quick find the cache and get back to civilization.
But, just as I reached into a likely dark spider filled rust hole, I heard a hissing noise. Hmmm. Could this old wreck have a tire going down? Oh-my-gosh! S N A K E ! ! !
It lunged and I grabbed and there was a treible freakous. After what seemed an hour of rolling in the leaves wrasseling the serpent, I finaly got it by the neck and by the luck of me managed to quick stuff it in my TB bag. That was close!
Now what to do? Shall I put the evil serpent in another cache where it might attack some of my friends? No way! I'm taking this guy where it can't bother anyone around here again.

So, much to our surprise, he wasn't actually in the Great Wal L. He had slithered across town to the Christmas Cache. But we found him, and we will take him west with us.

Headed north- back home to Wenatchee. We'll see if we can get him moving to some different places. This snake is cute!
