My mission is to have adventures while I make my way back to any cache in the "Buckeye" State: Ohio, USA. There I will be picked up by my owner and sent out again. Take some pictures and show my owner where I've been!

About This Item

Why is the state of Ohio called the "Buckeye" state? Well, the Ohio State Tree has a nut with a spot on it that some say looks like the eye of a deer or a buck. Hence the name, Buckeye!


I am a representation of an Ohio flag, a burgee or swallowtail shape. The white circle with a red center shows the letter "O" for Ohio. The blue triangle represents Ohio's hills and valleys. The red and white stripes represent roads and waterways. The 13 stars around the circle represent the original states of the union; the 4 extra stars symbolize Ohio's joining as the 17th state. I was adopted as the Ohio state flag in 1902.

    How embarrassing 👎 and also a sad sign how long a Minnesota winter is. I picked this one up from "Hole in Two" last November using my fall jacket, now in April during my first Spring outing, I found it in my pocket again.
