Current Goal

'A Frog Went a Courtin' wants to travel the globe to meet and be kissed by all the lovely ladies. You may take a picture to add to the gallery if you like. If he turns into a prince for someone, you may keep him if you are of legal age and are not currently married. I may want a wedding invitation if the ceremony is not too far away.

Otherwise, please move him along and help him circumnavigate the globe and meet as many lovely ladies as he can. Height and weight need not be proportional. Facial, underarm hair, and hairy legs are ok. Race, religion, and political affiliation are immaterial. Wealth is not a factor, but if you live in a castle, that might be a plus! Frogs just want to have fun!!!

About This Item

An elderly woman was walking alone beside an idyllic stream, listening to its song, and reminiscing about the times of her life. There had been some hard things, but much more joy than pain. She had been loved by a real prince of a man, who was now gone, and though she missed him very much, they had spent 50 wonderful years together. They had three children, all happily married and successful, and they even stayed in touch with their mother. All things considered, she felt very blessed!

She was jarred from her reverie by a voice saying, “Hey!” She looked around, but saw nothing.

She continued on and once again heard someone say “Hey!!” She looked around but once again saw no one.

”How odd”, she thought. Then the voice said, “Down here!!!” She looked and, sure enough, there was a small, green frog hopping along the bank, keeping pace with her.

The frog said,” I’m really a prince and if you kiss me, I will be transformed and love you for the rest of your life.”

The old woman picked the frog up and looked at it closely.

“Don’t be shy", it said. "Kiss me and you will be the envy of all of your friends!”

She carefully put it in her sweater pocket.

The frog yelled, ”Hey!!!” and she pulled her pocket open and looked at the frog. “I said, kiss me and I’ll keep you warm on those cold nights!!!!”

The woman looked him square in the eyes and said, ”Honey, at my age I’d rather have a talking frog!”

I managed to lose the dog tag for this TB. I've notified the owner and he said to just forget about it...it was getting kind of beaten up so he says it's time to create a new one. I REALLY apologize, because what was left of the frog was kind of cool. Camnpete

I retrieved this travel bug this afternoon. I'm headed to Sonoma County (California) for the weekend so I'll find a new home for him there. Camnpete

Poor frog.... he's been sitting inside this very lonely hilltop cache for 11 months, since March 2008. The poor little froggy attached to the TB has disintegrated from dampness or the heat....only his head is left! His body fell off in pieces. Perhaps I'll add another frog to keep the original one company.

Found this lonely frog on a stormy day. Doesn't seem like he has been kissed for awhile. Since I'm not into kissing frogs, I'll move him on soon.

Even though this courtin frog seems to be losing his flesh a bit, I kissed him while a co-leader (of Boy Scout troop 614) took my picture. We were at the top of Mt St Helena on a beautiful day, surrounded by cloud and snow. I will post the pic as soon as it is sent to me and will move this frog along soon. In the picture I am standing at the cache location with cache in hand. - Chickasaw
