Geocaching can be a very solitary activity. I have given Giving Smurf life to encourage a little community. The whole intention is to give Giving Smurf to another geocacher before placing it in a cache. This will hopefully cause us all to break out of our shell a little bit. If you retrieved Giving Smurf from a cache, please meet, introduce yourself, make someone's acquaintance, flirt with or pick up, another geocacher and give Giving Smurf to them or better yet introduce someone to the sport and teach them what travel bugs are. In order to track of the transaction, the recipient needs to go to the travel bug page and "grab it" from the giver.

Was Given the "giving Smurf" from Fire4 @ Fiasco at San Falasco. This was our first Geo-Event/NEFGA event.What a BLAST!! We met some really great cachers from around the state. TFTH, Event Breakfast and Thanks Fire4 for the TB, ((sorry about the bad coords!, with only 46 finds, I'm Claiming Newbie Mistake...... I know, I only get one! Right?))

xplorer7 came to our Jeep Club Social tonight and handed off this cute smurf to us! It sure is a great way to meet fellow cachers! We are heading to Jax next weekend for an event, I will hand it off to someone we don't know yet!

  • At Universal Studios, Florida We got a chance to take The Giving Smurf to Universal before the Smurf and us accomplished his mission and met new geocachers.
