Sheep farming is a significant industry in New Zealand. According to 2007 figures reported by the United Nations, there are 39 million sheep in the country (a count of about 10 per individual). The country has the highest density of sheep per unit area in the world. Sheep numbers peaked in New Zealand in 1982 to 70 million and then dropped to about 40 million. There are 16,000 sheep and beef farms in the country which has made the country the world's largest exporter of lambs, with 24 million finished lambs recorded every year. We went to see the Merlion fountain tonight. Lovely lights around Marina Bay. The Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore - a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. Spouting water from its mouth, the Merlion statue stands at 8.6 metres and weighs 70 tonnes. Originally located at the mouth of the Singapore River, it had to be moved to Marina Bay because of land reclamation. 🧜♀️

Took a look around the Fort Canning Hill today. It is believed that the Fort Canning Hill area was once the centre of ancient Singapura that thrived in the 14th century. The Malays called the hill Bukit Larangan or Forbidden Hill because of the belief that it is the place where the kings of ancient Singapore were laid to rest. The unique blend of historical relics, lush greenery and expansive lawns has made Fort Canning a hub of cultural and artistic activity. 🐲

Welcome to Singapore. I really like Singapore and have been here many times so it’s easy for me to get around. This time, south-east Asia is experiencing a major heat wave so I’m not planning on doing to much. 🇸🇬

Time for you to find your passport, pack your bags, stock up on Vegemite and Fruit Tingles, and leave Australia. Before you fly off, you need to attend the Victorian Cache of the Year event and BBQ in Altona. It’s a sad time for me, hard to say goodbye. 🛫
