The goal of this travel bug is visit all of the host communities of the Canada Games from the 1967 inaugural games in Quebec City through the planned 2007 games in Whitehorse. The communites are lited on the Host Communites image below.
The Canada Games are the premier sporting event for young Canadian athletes. Since the inaugural games of 1967, the Canada games have been held every second year alternating between summer and winter venues. These games are a key step in the development of Canada’s future stars and Canada’s next generation of national, international and Olympic champions. ---- This travel bug is created in recognition of the Canada Games past, present and future, and to honour the athletes, the coaches, the organizers and the volunteers that make these games a springboard for sport in Canada. ---- The Canada Games Council supports the journey of this travel bug and provided the pennant that is the Canada Games Travel Bug. To aid the journey of the travel bug, the council has provided commemorative pins for the first cachers to place the bug in any of the host communities. If you are eligible for one of these prizes, please email me with your address and I will send it out.

Unfortunately we couldn't help this TB get to Alberta (and stay there 🤭) as we intended. I hope it has better luck in the future.

This bug didn't actually officially visit THIS cache as we couldn't find it. But, I'm logging it in and out of here because the TB did visit an Earthcache only 160m away (Nose Creek Pathway Erratic) and unfortunately I couldn't "drop" it into the Earthcache. Since this TB came with us all the way from Kamloops, BC to Calgary, Alberta, I wanted to make sure it got credit for its miles (we didn't end up finding any physical caches while in Calgary 😟 ). See the attached photo of this TB with its companions at "Split Rock" (Nose Creek Pathway Erratic Earthcache).

It seems that this TB has visited the 2 places in BC that it needs to see, so we are going to help it get closer to its next destinations by taking it with us to Calgary tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be able to find a cache big enough to drop it in 🙂.
