To take in the sights from coast to coast!
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was founded as a Moravian settlement in 1741. Since its humble beginnings as a colonial settlement, Bethlehem has thrived and become a beautiful, diverse community steeped in cultural history and tradition. Bethlehem was the world headquarters to Bethlehem Steel which, at its height, was the nation's second largest steel company. Bethlehem steel supplied steel to such landmarks as Golden Gate Bridge, Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, George Washington Bridge, Alcatraz, Rockefeller Center, the Hoover Dam, Waldorf Astoria, and the Bonville Dam, It also produced many forms of ammunition for the U.S. during WWII. Sadly, Bethlehem Steel officially became defunct in 2003 ending a legacy that helped build a nation and whose influence was felt coast to coast. Today, the Bethlehem Steel grounds are being rejuvinated as parks, museums, and event centers enjoyed by thousands of residents from Bethlehem and beyond.
