Little Jimmi's Glasses

To Visit all interesting places around the world

Little Jimmi never knew that he was different to other children, and his mom and dad who loved him very much did not know either, but, he was different. He could not see as well as other children, but that never seemed to hold him back, because he never knew. It really upset his mom when all the other children called him “clumsy Jim”, and only when he was bumping into things did his mom become aware that he might have an eyesight problem even though he had the most beautiful big blue eyes.

His mom took him to their optometrist who immediately picked up that there was a problem, and after testing his eyes, he gave Jimmi these glasses which were his first glasses. It must be quite amazing to suddenly see as well as others, and Jimmi was just smiling all the time for the first few days after he got his first glasses. He has since had many pairs as his eyes slowly improved. Jimmi really likes to stop and take in a pretty scene, view, or a beautiful garden, and always reminds himself of how wonderful it is to see so well. Jimmi still wears glasses today, but now see as well as anyone else. He has done so well, and will be finishing school next year. He is hoping to go on and become an optometrist when he leaves school, so that he can help kids like himself who had a bad start, so that they too can finish well.

As Jimmi is not able to travel the world yet, it would be wonderful if his very tiny first pair of spectacles could travel the world for him.
