Cirrus Travel-Cat

   Cirrus Travel-Cat's goal is to travel around the country, heading eventually towards Boston, meeting lots of Geocachers and their cats and other animals! He wouldn't mind meeting up with Sasha Travel-Cat if they get near each other, but they don't need to travel together.

Cirrus Travel-Cat is the alter ego of a three-year-old grey and white fluffy soft cat named Cirrus. Cirrus is extremely playful but often shy, and is kind of a nag. He loves to sit next to people and purr.

Cirrus ("real cat") has directed us to use our new digital camera and post pictures of him for each picture(s) of the Travel Cats that a kindly Geocachers may place here. This is his way of thanking you :) You might also find a note from him above your log...

About the Travel-Cats:

Sasha Travel-Cat and her brother Cirrus Travel-Cat are small avatars of our (Alison and Andy's) cats ("the real" Cirrus and Sasha). Our cats have been wondering about this "geocaching" thing since we started tromping into the apartment talking about a "gee-pee-ess" and with our shoes smelling of interesting parklands. Occasionally we would even bring them trinkets out of a cache (our cats like to chase small plastic things).

In January we picked up a travel bug, the Golden Gecko, who was heading west from Boston to visit Yosemite. The GG befriended the cats, and Cirrus and Sasha begged us to let them become travel bugs, too! Of course, they aren't allowed outside, and besides that they wouldn't fit in most caches, but they meowed plaintively until we came up with this compromise:

Sasha Travel-Cat and Cirrus Travel-Cat will be released in California, and would be thrilled to be picked up by Geocachers, especially those with animals (especially cats!). They would love to fill their photo albums as they traverse the country, seeing far-off places and reporting back to Cirrus and Sasha, who will remain cozy and spoiled in the apartment. Since the cats have lived together almost all their lives, the Travel-Cats want to travel separately for a while, but wouldn't mind being reunited at some point in their journeys.

Eventually the Travel-Cats want to head towards Boston, where both Alison and Andy have relatives (and the relatives have cats).
