Current Goal

This little storm chaser pickup truck would like to travel around and have his picture taken in as many different types of storms/weather as possible. Being from Southern Arizona all he really gets to see here are the summer thunderstorms. See if you can't help him by introducing him to different types of weather and posting the pictures to this web page. It is even ok if the weather is perfect where you are at, we would still love to see pictures. :-)

About This Item

Storm Chaser at home

Storm Chaser is a hot wheels pickup truck that I picked up in a cache here in the Tucson area and it only seemed right to turn him into a travel bug and send him on his way.

Team Tierra Buena retrieved it from Fore! by Team JeepNAz:
We found Storm Chaser complaining that the only storms up here up here were hailstorms of golf balls. Some of the people who play this course evidently hit some wicked hooks. We're going to take him to the body shop for some repair work. It doesn't look good to have a mirror image of the word Titleist stamped in your roof.

After the dents have been undone, we'll try to move him a little closer to the action, likely before next weekend is over.

After nearly a month in the Round Mountain Cache, Storm Chaser was ready and raring to move along. He hitched a ride in our Jeep today and we hope to place him again soon!

I was left alone - way out here in the middle of nowhere! Geez! There's not even a road nearby! Somebody get me 'outta here!

When we arrived at the Massacre Grounds cache, this was all we could hear. We plucked him up, and carried the little Matchbox truck back to our Jeep.

WOW! You sure have more than 1/8 inch of ground clearance here! I'm gonna hang out with you guys for awhile.

So, for now, he's riding around town with us. But I still don't expect any storms to come up soon for him.

Retrieve It from a Cache 1/4/2002 n4/c retrieved it from ALMOST THERE!!! Arizona   Visit Log

The crew of the Storm Chaser was looking clearly perplexed when I found them atop a hill in the Arizona desert.

'Look - how to you expect us to climb over these rocks! They're HUGE! C'mon, this is only a 'Hot Wheel'! And what's with the weather out here?? It NEVER changes!'

I couldn't guarantee the plucky little traveller that I'd be able to rustle up any 'good' (bad?) weather for them, but maybe a change of location would bring some luck...

With that thought in mind, I ambled back to the vehicle, with the little Hot Wheel right behind me - until it got stuck - on just about every rock along the way.

Something's gotta be done about that one-eighth inch ground clearance!

No storm around here today, so he's on the move looking elsewhere.
