Dropped Off 6/19/2009 Caline placed it in Hafen Hugo Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany - 11.06 miles  Visit Log

Unfortunately it's no sea port, but an interesting "lost place port" of a coal mine (Zeche Hugo) to transport coal across the Rhein-Herne-Channel. The mine was closed in the year 2000.

Oh dear! What an exciting journey back from the Balearic Island Mallorca. I managed to get a hike by some tourists from Germany who hid me in their luggage, so I succeeded in crossing the border without a valid passport... On my journey to the seaports of the world I have been taking a short break at the canal port of Datteln, a nice little town in the Ruhr Area. This is an interesting loction regarding waterways as it is a junction of four (!) canals (take a look at GOOGLE EARTH). Maybe some old salts are hanging around and hopefully one of these will take me closer to a "real" port...

Sein Anzug ist schon wesentlich schmutziger als auf dem Foto, ganz schön rumgekommen der alte Seebär. Versuche ihn in andere Gewässer zu "schleusen"...

Have seen it in GC11F4P.
How it came there i do not know but I'm wondering that it is there because the next "Seaport" is some miles away.
