About This Item

Life is a Rock

"Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me)" is a song from 1974 by the group Reunion and was written by Paul DiFranco & Norman Dolph.  As described by Wikipedia, "the lyrics are a fast patter [or 'rap'] of 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s disc jockeys, musicians, songwriters, record labels, song titles and lyrics, broken only by the chorus."  The song reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and #33 in the United Kingdom.  :-)

When I got this travel tag and was trying to decide what it should be attached to, I suddenly spotted this rock that I'd had on my desk for a number of years, having found it with my nephew on a beach in southern California in the late 1990s.  We thought it was rather unusual to have holes bored/worn into it naturally by some means.  So, with the rock having left southern California and spending nearly two decades in Florida, it's time to continue on its journey!

(Please don't "collect" this trackable as this would take it out of circulation and spoil the fun.  Thanks!)

Visited Roswell and saw Dr. Goddard, the "Rock"et man. Not quite the companion I'd imagined leaving this West Coast rolling stone with, though. So gonna keep rolling along with me in my travels. We did, however pick up another passenger 👽

Grabbed from LOL! Flip the Bird. Will take it with me in my travels out west. Currently driving cross country from FL to San Diego. I'll make some pit stops for this one specifically. Might hold onto it for a bit because I'll be driving back to FL and then up to Virginia at the end of March. This will definitely log some miles and photo ops with me. Great find on the front end of my trip. Here's a picture as it's leaving the bird house. 👋🏻
