About This Item

Life is a Rock

"Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me)" is a song from 1974 by the group Reunion and was written by Paul DiFranco & Norman Dolph.  As described by Wikipedia, "the lyrics are a fast patter [or 'rap'] of 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s disc jockeys, musicians, songwriters, record labels, song titles and lyrics, broken only by the chorus."  The song reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and #33 in the United Kingdom.  :-)

When I got this travel tag and was trying to decide what it should be attached to, I suddenly spotted this rock that I'd had on my desk for a number of years, having found it with my nephew on a beach in southern California in the late 1990s.  We thought it was rather unusual to have holes bored/worn into it naturally by some means.  So, with the rock having left southern California and spending nearly two decades in Florida, it's time to continue on its journey!

(Please don't "collect" this trackable as this would take it out of circulation and spoil the fun.  Thanks!)

GeoPig and the TBs stopped here to pick up 6 new travel mates. Unfortunately 7 of their current travel mates decided to stay here. After the second tearful goodbye of the day, the TBs went back to the hotel to call it a night.

GeoPig and the TBs stopped here for a very cool cache. They picked up a TB who wanted to travel and said a tearful goodbye to some of their travel mates who wanted to stay behind in this cache.

GeoPig took the TBs for a tour of Eureka Springs, AR today. They spent a great day souvenir shopping up and down the quaint streets, took an underground tour of the area, had a wonderful Mexican dinner, grabbed this cache, then headed back to Branson, MO for 2 more caches. Everyone was exhausted by the time they returned to the hotel and turned in for the night - except GeoPig who was logging the caches. 🙂

GeoPig and the TBs started their day with a quick park and grab then it was on to Fantastic Caverns. They took a great tram ride through an interesting cave before heading to Branson. After checking into the hotel, GeoPig took everyone to the outlet malls for some shopping. They ended the day with a wonderful dinner at Olive Garden.

GeoPig noticed that this rock oddly resembles the nose of the stone age members of her family. [:D}
