Current Goal

******UPDATED!!! MISSION COMPLETE!!!! ******
I need to visit my home of NYC and get stitched onto someone's arm so I can represent for all of the people that passed during the 9/11/01 tragedy. I need to be shown in memory of my fellow firefighters that perished during the terrorist attack.

About This Item

911

I would like to do whatever it takes to make it to NYC via a cache, or someone that knows a NYC firefighter so that I can be sewn onto something. A Jacket, a blanket, a pillow, put in a frame, anything, all I want to do is be shown to represent the freedom of my country and heart of my firefighters that braved hell to save people's lives. Please help me complete my journey, no matter what it takes... If you cannot help me, please return me to my home at Hammond Pond Pest Rest by Cachebandits...Peace and Love.

P.S. as a note, this patch was actually picked up in the "Scouting Cache" by Lara Croft in Rhode Island, for original tracking purposes.

The 9-11 Firefighter Patch has arrived at its destination! We took a bus trip to NYC today to take a walking tour of the Brooklyn Bridge and to do a little Geocaching. One of our tasks was to find a home for the 9-11 Firefighter Patch travel bug. After walking from Ground Zero to the Brooklyn side of the bridge, we split from the tour group and started our geocaching day. Our first stop was a nice little park on the waterfront to search for Br2X. Our timing couldn't have been better because the Brooklyn Heights Firefighters were there to plant some trees. We approached the group and explained Geocaching, Travel Bugs and our mission. We then showed them the 9-11 Firefighter patch and presented it to Lt. Ken Dolney of the Brooklyn Heights station of the New York Fire Department along with a printout of the Travel Bug page listing its goal. It is in good hands, mission accomplished!

We don't really have it, we're upset cause someone stole it and it is a beautiful symbol of the rebuilding of our country after it was demolished by terrorists. We can't blame someone for taking it since it is such a cool patch, but that shows complete disrespect for geocaching in general. Hope whoever stole it ends up in the travel bug graveyard so they can see the damage they caused!
