About This Item

This geocoin is a 45th weding anniversay present from my wife. I have spent some time as a navigator on racing yachts which sparked an interest in the history behind solving the problem of fixing longitude. Lt. Cook who sailed through and named the Whitsunday Passage was instrumental in confirming the accuracy of the clocks using the transit of Venus.

    Yep, today, Sunday 09-02-2020, on a very stormy and rainy day (with a storm with its own name 'Ciara' for the first time in the Netherlands), I searched the Internet, read Geocaching.com and then I found this TB-code in an official photo gallery of geocaching.com. Thanks for sharing.
