Leaping Lizards-It’s a Soar Point: I’ve been working on this one for awhile. This is actually my third time attempting this one. Previously, I wrote the answers down on a piece of paper. Then, when it was time to log the cache I could not find the paper. So, I had to go back and get the answers again. Silly me also wrote the answers down on a piece of paper the second time. And subsequently lost them again. Today I was back in point Loma grabbing some specialty cashes and decided to go back out to this one and put the answers on my phone instead. It was such a beautiful day I enjoyed coming out here. Thank you for the excuse.

My co leader and I were going to a Girl Scout event in Pt Loma and I talked her into doing a couple of caches. We lucked out with a great parking spot and made the short walk on this beautiful day down to GZ. In addition to getting the necessary information, we saw birds, sailboats, and happy families. Thanks for placing this Earthcache.

Desert Reflections: Out with my dad on a road trip today along Old Hwy 80. This was our destination. The admission price has doubled BTW. Beautiful view of the desert and the Salton Sea today and if you look across the 8, you can see an abandoned stretch of the 80.

aBooK: Noticed there was a cache here when we drove by this morning but the library wasn’t open yet. We were planning to come back to Frosty Burger for lunch so decided to go for it on our return. After lunch, we came down to an empty library-save for two librarians. We struck up a conversation after I was in the right place and they enjoyed having us there. I started too low and it was on the last shelf I looked at. Definitely gets a favorite point from me. I love library caches.

Wish I could get a signal out here. My dad and I were trying to pick up Old Hwy 80, ran into some Fish and Wildlife folks who were radio tagging big horn sheep who sent us this way. We do not have an off road vehicle so we didn’t get far. I saw this pile of rocks and thought, this would be a great place for a cache. Checked when I got home and yup, I was right. Maybe next time.

Hanging out near Old Mexico: Out caching and photographing along Old Hwy 80. I really wanted to grab one of these but I lost signal and we didn’t get a chance but we did stop in front of the middle school and then went right up to the border wall.

80 on 80 #13: Out with my dad exploring Old Hwy 80. He wanted to take photographs and he asked if I wanted to come, stating that there are lots of caches along the route. Of course I said yes. He also had a few stops planned such as this one. He discovers the candy shop last week and wanted to stop for a treat. Of course I looked to see if there was a cache around and there most certainly was. I grabbed the cache and some dark chocolate sweets- highly recommend the truffles. Enjoyed a nice conversation with the owner as well.
