About This Item

When Lefty was a young donkey he worked on a lot of pack trains in Northern California and Idaho. Years ago he retired and moved to Georgia where he hs enjoyed the great southern climate. He decided to make this trip back home to visit his family. He has ask for the help of our GEOCACHING family to accomplish this. We ask that you take pictures of LEFTY'S trip and post them so his friends and family in Georgia will know where he is and that he's safe.

    Grabbed Lefty back to send via another route. Hmmm. But he had fun being with Bring on the cold and S.M.I.C.K.K. the Gorilla, so logged his visit to this cache where Bring on the cold is going to wait for another ride.

    • Overlooking Page County, VA This is Lefty at the Overlook for Page County, VA, on Saturday, 9/16/2006. Just scoping out the territory here.

Follow I-81 South from the Potomac River/West Virginia border to New Market. Take 211 East toward Luray. At the top of the pass, take a side road north along the Massanutten to the overlook. You have the coordinates for the specific location.

    • Lefty and friends Here is S.M.I.C.K.K. the Gorilla, a Florida Geocoin, and Lefty, all posing for a group photo at the overlook. They scoped out the territory on Saturday, then returned today, Thursday, 9/21/2006, to actually FIND the cache. And they were successful!

Today was a much nicer day for geocaching!
