About This Item

coin.jpeg

Sometime prior to the Spring of 1763, a German named Ulrich Krauter – the founder of Ulrichsburg – came into the Carolinas, probably through Charleston, and went northwest up the Wateree River to the area near the present town of Camden, S. C. Ulrich applied to the South Carolina Council under the headright and bounty system to receive land for transporting himself into the British colony.

Grabbed this one because the goal peeked my interest. Never heard of the town so want to look it up. Will move along. Also, its a neat looking coin. Thanks for setting it loose.

Interesting. Ulrichsburg is still located where it has always been: south of Hickory, N. C. and west of Newton, N. C.; on State Road #1005, just south of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, on Henry Whitener 's Muddy Creek, a branch of the Henry Fork River of the South Fork of the Catawba River.

Discovered your beautiful geocoin on Facebook. Someone posted a picture of it, and since I could read the code, I thought I'd send in this "discovery."

Dropped this one off, pretty sure it will be picked up by someone today, since this is a new cache.
My mother is from Germany (Forchheim) and we've been there several times. I took my son (Rtylerperez) there when he was 14 for a week. I was actually born in Nurnberg and spoke German before I spoke English. Sadly, when we moved to the States when I was 3, I quit speaking German and now can only speak very little.
