Current Goal

"Hi, my name is Baldy. I belong to a family who lives in Chino Hills, California (photos below). My goal is to have my photo taken with other kids and/or historical sites from as many STATES as possible in the country. Eventually, I'd even like to make my way to Washington, D.C. I would also be grateful for ANY additional photos of friends and views I enjoy along the way. My family would LOVE to learn about the beauty of our great country and it's people thru postings of my experiences on the road. In December 2007, please return me to: P.O. Box 758, Glendora, CA 91740-0758."

About This Item

Baldy's Family Photo

In the spirit of learning ... American Bald Eagles are members of the hawk family, found in all parts of North America near water. They feed chiefly on dead fish and rodents. Their wing's span up to 7-1/2 feet. They are solitary birds, said to have one mate for life. They build a nest nest of twigs and sticks at a vantage point high in a tree or on a cliff. Nests can become enormous, measuring up to 10 feet across. The American Bald Eagle became the national emblem of the United States by act of Congress in 1782.

We found Baldy at Kezar falls, I think he was enjoying himself there because it is a very nice place but we will try to find him another place which is just as nice to continue his journey and then he should be heading home very soon.

  • Captain Baldy This is at the beach at my family's camp on Kezar Lake, where coincidentally, we had seen a bald eagle perched atop a tall tree right above our heads a couple weeks before.
  • Enjoying the weather October 6th and the temp this weekend was in the 70's beautiful for relaxing in the hammock
  • On the beach Baldy looking out at Kezar lake which was calm and as smooth as a mirror.
  • I know that guy! Baldy posing with a woodworking of another bald eagle made by my grandfather many years ago.
  • Where will we go next? Baldy was trying to figure out where he wanted to go next.

Wanted to leave Baldy on a mountain and were headed to one for next cache but decided to leave Baldy where there was room and I could trade for another bug. It is a beautiful spot for Baldy.

Thought Black Cap Mt. would be the perfect place for an eagle but cache log was in pieces and cache was found laying around last cachers to log so didn't want to leave it. Some bugs listed in inventory are missing too.
