I foundthe cache this Geocoin was in today at 0955, and I have to say it will probably always remain one of my favourite finds.
Yesterday afternoon Karen whisked me away from work for a mystery break up at Cromwell. It's a place that we really enjoyed visitng last year when we were down from Nelson on our summer holiday and we haven't made time to get over into Central since we moved down to Dunedin two months ago. I do have a weekly pocket query set, and the radius is 150km from home co-ords, which means that my caches are only loaded on as far as Alexanrda.Km didn't plan to do any chaching, but I usually have the GPS in my work bag.
On our way up Lake Dunstan to the accomodation she booked I saw the 45th parallel plinth. I wanted to stop and see if it was S45, we are still fairly new to geocaching, and the workd of GPS, but I had a vague inkling that this might just be S45, so could she please take my photo there with GPS on the off chance that it might be a virtual.
As we jumped out of the car, and she duly took said photograph I decided that I would have to have a quick hunt around, it was just too good a spot with too much meaning for geocachers for there not to be a cache there. Within 30 seconds I had the cache in hand, and a huge smile on my dial.
My first 'accidental find' > I think the words of Yoda are appropriate “Powerful you have become, the dark side I sense in you.” MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Will shift the coin to a new spot soon, so that hopefully it will continue to travel well.
