Current Goal

I know, not very original, but I'm looking for "WARM". Now it's not as bad as it sounds. There are 106 caches with "warm" in the name. And, the Wikipedia says, warm/hot can be: a relatively high temperature, spicy food, radioactivity, molten metal, a district of Chiang Mai province, a pop music group, something that has been stolen, attractiveness, "cool" (there's another coin for that, so don't go there!), an acronym for Heal over Time, a South Korean music group & a cable TV company in Israel. Now with all these options, you can find your local "HOT" cache. Or at least warm????

(This is a real coin. If you find anything else, please let me know.)

2) ?Phone a Friend (GCZYBW) Since you can't phone a friend, maybe you can take a friend that can tell you when you are getting "warm".
3) wirzwei said, "Temperatures were well above 40 when we placed the bug. SO it is right on his mission!"

I have found around 145 Geocaches, and in my travels seen 2 other travel bugs, but wasn't too sure how they actually worked. So this time I grabbed this one and soon I will move it on to another Geocache.

Logging late as we grabbed this one on holidays, had some computer problems and we are now home with reliable connection. Yep, we can give the Sun Catcher "warm" as we live very near a massive open cut coal mine that is the source of energy trapped from the sun. It is mainly used for producing electricity for our state however is also used for heating in the form of briquettes. The coal is used to heat water into super-heated steam (and that's HOT) which is then used to turn massive 500 megawatt turbines. The hole in the ground and the size of the machinery is stunning.
A very nice coin - will pass on soon.

  • Stored energy from the Sun provides heat. This is the largest of three power stations very close to home. The coal is used to heat water into super-heated steam to turn turbines to produce electricity for (among other things) warmth!
