About This Item

The Anchor Bar is the origination of the Buffalo Chicken Wings, or as they are called in Buffalo, New York, just "wings". The story is that Frank and Teressa, who still own the place, developed the recipe when their son and his friends were visiting during a very busy Friday night. They were running out of food and Teressa threw some ingredients together, and she came up with "wings". We eat them mild, medium, hot, and suicide. You need to sign a waver to eat the suicide wings. Enjoy!

Found this nice TB near a Cracker Barrel and thought it was time for him to travel with us for while. Tonight we enjoyed Lousiana Seafood Gumbo and a Spicy Shrimp Salad. We will let this TB travel with us for a while before dropping it off at some distance place. TFTTB

Moving to a temporary stay in the Cleveland area. Which, I suppose, is known - as well as most of the NE Ohio area - for pierogies. The best are at the West Side Market or at any local church. We will move along to new food adventures.

Saw this one up in Port Dalhousie while caching with GadgetCHC. While repacking and rehiding the cache, I had to empty my hands, so I stuffed stuff in my pockets...and accidentally grabbed the bug! Guess he'll be coming back home with me.
By the way, Port Dalhousie has a waterside street with some very fine restaurants, as well as a favorite ice cream parlor. I'm sure that some of the restaurants serve poutine, a dish of french fries, topped with gravy and cheese curd. Okay okay...stop gagging! It's really quite good, and worth trying next time you're in Ontario.

being from Western NY, the other great local food is the Beef on Wick with a pickle on the side and fries with vinegar and lots of salt...healthy? don't think so, good? you bet!
