Current Goal

A GeoCoin to commemorate the very reason I GeoCache; Vision.

This coin serves as a gratitude symbol towards all the good folks, luck, vibes, prayers, and doctors who helped me in my journey to regain eyesight. Its the ultimate Vision Quest!

On April 3rd 2015 and September 2nd 2015 I underwent a lensectomy-vitrectomy in my right and left eye respectively. The purpose of these surgeries were to remove my congenital cataract and 'wonky inner eye workings' which were inhibiting my vision and threatening the integrity/health of my eyes. I no longer have inner ocular lenses in my eyes...the condition is called Aphakia, or Aphakic, meaning absence of lens.

After my surgeries I'd wear an eye patch for a week or so...making me a Pirate...an Aphakic Pirate!

Arrrrg me mateys!

...after that...EVERYTHING had some hint of a pirate theme to it...hence this coin!

Becoming Aphakic opened up a whole new world...I'm finally experiencing COLOR, CONTRAST, TEXTURE, and DETAIL for the first time in my life. My vision is not yet 20/20....but my eyes/vision are improving each and every day.

Geocaching as been an excellent way for me to use my new eyesight for enjoyment...and even help me on my process of vision/brain processing recovery.

I plan to hold onto this coin for a little while....

So if you happen to stumble upon it...know it's been on an epic Vision Quest through the most privital part of my recovery. :)

My hope is that it brings YOU the same luck and good vibes I've experienced. I hope this GeoCoin gives you the opportunity to reflect of gratitude in your own life and remind you of how AWESOME the world around us looks!

Place this in a cache with a nice view...or around color...or with some artistic flavor!

Keep it going! I hope to share the good Pirate-y Vibes with everyone!

This one got snowed under in my desk drawer for 4 months. I put it out in one of my caches along US 97. It should be moving again soon. Tom Fuller Crescent Oregon.

I SEE that this nice geocoin has been traveling for a year with the owner. Starting at the Original Stash Plaque was a great move. I will take care of this and put it in an often visited cache soon.
