    Hi ekabiljo,

Thanks for the cache GC88ZX7 "Knez Mihailova street (Virtual Reward 2.0)"!

On a short business trip to Belgrade I had as private target to get at least the Virtual. The hotel is not too far away and following the flight it has been welcome to walk a bit.

My bit had been roughly 350 steps - if I didn’t skip some number while trying to find my way through the crowded pedestrian area.

    Hi Ravjula,

Thanks for the cache GC892MZ "Lost in the Silent City"!

2nd attempt today after having first scored an DNF.
Today we went first to Rabat to see the Saint Paul’s Catacombs. A must-do and impressive site.

After a short rest to cure the headaches from the narrow ceiling in the tombs and more important to enjoy some Maltese cookies, we headed for the old town of Mdina.

We didn’t manage to find all six doors, however our track record is now at two thirds of them.

    • First one on the day with the DNF
    • Second one today
    • Fourth one. And realized that we had found it before. But we’re not identifying it on the first day.
    • Third one

    Hi MikiHamza,

Thanks for the cache GC9P5TR "Tarxien Temples - Virtual Reward 3.0"!

When taking the journey to Tarxien, it is obvious to go for the virtual cache which is hidden here.
Amazing to see the three temples. And to wonder how the ancient people had been lifting and constructing with these big stones a monument.

After the visit to the temples we went to Vittoriosa, where the view at the harbour, the old city, the panoramic view to Valletta and for sure the amount of wealth being displayed by the ships is incredible.

    Hi Linnhe's,

Thanks for the cache GC5D239 "New Horizons"!

Following the solving of the Earth cache in the neighborhood we picked this one on the way back.

And took some pictures showing new horizons.
For us the visit to Malta had been a journey to a new horizon as well.

    Hi angelou666,

Thanks for the cache GC87YX4 "Khachkar"!

It was very interesting. Two things learned: in addition to the igneous rock type as well about the history of Malta and Armenia.

I had been to Armenia almost a decade ago several times, therefore I was curious to read and think about the relation to this island here.

    Hi Ocean5000,

Thanks for the cache GCAAC94 "Sand Dollars in Valletta"!

Easter Sunday, we took the opportunity to have dinner in Valletta. But before the meal there had to be this Earth Cache.

And it amazed me while frustrating the family. As we were more and more delayed for the dinner.
But once you knew about the sand dollars, it had been difficult to ignore them and lift the eyes from the ground.

And all of a sudden I had been spotting a sand dollar with a blue scarf!

    Dear Ravjula!

This cache (31. März 2024) could have been my number #414 + 1. Unfortunately I had been unsuccessful today while being lost in the city.

We have managed to find one of the places. Maybe the other scenery was too mind blowing to spot the others?

Will give it another try to find at least two missing ones.

    Hi angelou666,

Thanks for the cache GC87V52 "The Knot"!

Interesting to learn via the Earth Caches how much rock has been imported from Italy to Malta. Seeing the amount of rocks and stones around it appears to be crazy at first.

I have learned once again a lot by solving an Earth Cache. Much appreciated!

    Hi Ocean5000,

Thanks for the cache GCAAG8V "Tafoni tal-Port il-Kbir / Grand Harbor Tafoni"!

And thanks for enhancing my knowledge about the honeycomb structures which are visible all around in Valletta.
It has been a good learning exercise and I looked closer every time I saw them today.

    Hi happykiller,

Thanks for the cache GCA04H4 "Triton Fountain from travertine rock"!

We had been passing the area of the Triton Fountain four times in the past two days. And at the fourth time I took the opportunity to enjoy the story behind the material used to construct the fountain.

It has been a pleasure to learn more about travertine, but even more about the history of the fountain as well.
