About This Item

TB.jpg

Thanks to Torry (and Lulu) for coming up with such an imaginative and creative name, this TB used to be called the Pyewagon. Its hitchhiker *used* to be a wheelchair. However comma...instead of riding around on this TB, it's now going to be riding around on me.

I've had several life-altering experiences after another lately, and they've allowed me to change my reality. Should I still be in the wheelchair? Probably. Instead, I'm going to walk whenever possible. What's the worst that can happen? Bones pop/crack/break, and I end up...back in the chair. Until then, every painful step and slow lumber is a reminder that, right now, I'm living my life. That's more fun than riding around in a souped-up wheelchair. Shame on me for not learning this lesson sooner, but it's a lesson I've learned well. Life is too short to allow it to pass by in a blur. Slow down, and really experience what it has to offer. Be strong enough in spirit not to be dragged down by negative sources, including your own. I did, for far too long. I let my own negativity control me and shape who I used to be. I'm not that person anymore. Goodbye, and good riddance...long live the King. :)

Another fine cache on a fine day of caching! My companions and I were hoping to see more eagles than we did today, but we only saw 20 or so. I thought that perhaps being so close to the hatchery, the eagle population would be greater here, but alas, we only saw a couple. WeightMan's pic is better than mine. Why is it that everything seems much closer through the lenses of our eyes than they do when seen through the lenses of our cameras?

Poor Jo...we'd already done a fair bit of walking and her leg was really bothering her, so she missed out on the cache. WM and I meandered through the snow, discussing this and that and generally just enjoying the beautiful day.

On such a clear day, there was little to interfer with our GPSr signal; we both walked to within a few feet of the cache before beginning to look for the likely spot. It didn't take WM long to have the cache in hand. I'll bet this is a neat little glen in the summer...I can almost imagine the trees and shrubbery in their full splendour. I'm sure it's a nice little oasis for critters that may be wandering the area.

Log signed, cache rehidden, and we were off to find the next cache. After I finished taking pics of the snow crystals, that is...how mathematically perfect is Mother Earth?

Thanks for the cache. 🙂

Wahooo! A 'Tudles cache find on a day of caching with friends! Life is indeed grand!

IdaJo2 and WeightMan had already logged Fünf on a previous date, so I set off to find this one by my lonely only self. Coords were spot on and Miss Maggie MeriGold had no qualms whatsoever in telling me exactly where the cache was hidden. I wanted to sit down and write a longer note instead of just merely leaving my name, but the ground was becoming wet and muddy with the abundant sunshine melting the snow. So, I only left my name in the log in my signature pink ink.

After rehiding the cache, the three of us sat in WM's car just a few feet from the cache and enjoyed the lovely picnic lunch we'd individually packed. Tato soup, slurped in a beautiful spot, while conversing with friends about the amazing day...this is what caching is about! And any cache hunt, followed by a yummy lunch and even yummier (if I do say so myself) Snickerdoodles, is a memorable one indeed, but the fact that I consider the hider of the cache to be a friend is the icing on the cake. I hope to see you on the "circuit" soon!

Thanks for the cache! 🙂

Another find on a day of caching with friends on a spectacularly sunny, yet brisk winter day. The scenery was absolutely stunning...snowy crystals everywhere, sparkling and shining, creating the vision of a Christmasy postcard.

Making my way to the cache site, I was a bit apprehensive at first, thinking the path to the hiding spot would be terribly icy. Thankfully, there was enough crunchy snow to allow me to keep my legs firmly planted beneath me as opposed to splayed out at odd angles. This gave me the opportunity to walk several steps, then stop and take yet another picture. I take a lot of pics here. I mean...just look at those views!

I found myself contemplating as I walked the snowy path. I love paths...I take a lot of pics of paths. Their metaphoric beauty certainly isn't lost on me, now that I appreciate that, in every moment, we arrive at a fork and must choose the direction that will keep us heading in the right direction. The suggestion to "follow your path" is among the most profound advice ever given, so simple that we tend to overlook the necessity of staying a true course to peace and happiness.

Okay, back to the matter at hand...the cache. It was fairly easy to see we were close, even without the benefit of an electronic arrow pointing the way...there were footsteps in the snow. After searching for a few minutes, WM was the one to spy the well-hidden prize. Cache in hand, log signed, cache replaced, and away we went. On our way back to the car, we met some eagle watchers approaching from the other direction. The first in the bunch asked if I'd seen anything interesting, to which I replied, "Hidden treasure." I don't think he quite understood what I meant. 😎

Thanks for the cache and the snowy white path. 🙂

I was graciously invited by IdaJo2 and WeightMan to join them on a day of cache hunting and eagle watching. And what a gorgeous day! Cold, yes, but the sky was SO blue and the sunshine was spectacular.

After getting out of WM's most awesomely quiet hybrid car, I started in the direction of the cache. Say what you will about us Maggie users, at least Miss Maggie MeriGold told me I was going the right way before Mr. Garmin made up his mind to send the other two in my party the right way. 😛

Making my way to the cache, I spotted a lone eagle on the other side of the river. I was hoping to see many. many more, but there was still something quite majestic about seeing such a grand and noble creature, perched in solitude.

The three of us circled for a while until WeightMan performed his "step away from the area so I don't give away its hidey hole to the other treasure seekers" maneuver. A few moments later, I spied the treasure, too. In short measure, the three of us signed the log, rehid it, and we were off ins earch of more caches. And eagles...though they remained scarce the entire day. Still, a glorious day to be out in some of the most beautiful, awe-inspiring wilderness in the world.

Thanks very much for the cache. 🙂

  • Gorgeous, simply gorgeous
  • Turn your back on the cache, find another treasure

Retrieve It from a Cache 1/21/2008 Pyewacket retrieved it from Mayhem In Marysville Washington   Visit Log

Allanon's gonna think a pod people got me; Pye...logging an event on the very same day she attended?

I was sitting in my room, reading (my MO), when I got an online message from Allanon, asking me if I was going to attend the event in Marysville tonight. Um...huh? There's an event? I don't even know what day it usually is, let alone know what's on the caching calendar. Off I surfed to find the cache page.

Ah...it's a Sassy and Gordy "do". Awfully tempting, even though I didn't know if I should be gallivanting about with the holiday cold and flu leftovers I can't seem to shake. Think, think, think. Hmmm...it's not exactly as if I would have to do anything. Allanon would be driving, so all I would have to do would be sit and stare adoringly at the mountains on the trip. And, if I started feeling too tired at the event, I could sit in the corner with shy, quiet Sassy and just watch all the minglers. 😉 Okay, I'm in.

I'm glad I didn't let my physical body talk me out of attending. I got to see so many of my favorite cachers. I wish I'd made an effort to meet the newest addicts to our activity, but I was pretty content to just sit still. Flutey even thought I was going to fall asleep, so I guess I was uncharacteristically unanimated. I certainly hope these germy gremlins depart my premises soon; quite frankly, they make me sick. Yeah, that was bad. Can I blame the lame pun on being sick? No? Drat.

S&G, you guys sure know how to throw a party. Sassy...you actually believed only five people would show up? You have a magnetic personality...how could anyone resist your charms? Wait...maybe it was half-price pizza. Oh, well...either way, I had a wonderful time, and appreciate you two for throwing the shindig.

Eegads, it's only January, and the cache calendar is already starting to fill up. Eagle watching with caching friends later this week, the Garmin event after that, then plodding a majestic hill the weekend following that...

I need a nap.
