Current Goal

The mission of "Lady Express #30" is to travel to Egypt (a destination chosen by our 7 year old nephew) and return to California. Along the way she would like to ride the railways and stay in various Travel Bug Hotels.

About This Item

The Lady

This is the little engine that got over the hill...she turned 30! This Travel Bug is being activated on "Applesnack's" thirtieth birthday and was picked out by our three nephews (7, 5, & 3 years old) to commemorate this day. Please take lots of photos of her exploring the world and proving that life is a fun adventure on the other side of the hill!

Lady took on some passengers in Sacramento and headed towards the rail way station in Suisun. Lady has heard that the salmon were running up the Delta from the San Francisco bay and hoped to do some fishing. When see arrived in Suisun who should she run into, but Thomas the Tank Engine. Now Thomas is a smart little Engine and had himself a nice little spot for fishing. Lady and Thomas spent several mornings visiting before Thomas had to be off.
Lady took on a new group of passenger and headed back up Interstate 80 towards Reno. As she passed by Vacaville the conductor was radioed to stop. Sir Topham Hatt had order Lady and all her passengers to be quarantined. Apparently someone aboard Thomas’ train had come down with a bad case of the Chickenpox. Sir Topham Hatt feared that some of Lady’s passengers had been exposed. Two days later Lady and most of her passenger came down with the Pox. Lady and all of her passengers had to sit and wait for weeks until all the passengers were Chickenpox free. With Sir Topham Hatt’s approval Lady is now on her way again.

For some reason the ID# we wrote down wil not work.? We placed Lady in Maranatha on Allendale.

Cool place to drop her off - (didn't make it to Seattle so I opted for Sacramento) Right next to the Sacramento Railroad Museum and not far from the airport. Hopefully someone will take her to the museum to see her heritage before moving her along! Unfortunately I didn't have time to take more pics...

Picked Lady Express up today from LMC 123 #2 for a Rail Trip to either Seatle or Sacramento next week! Will try to post some pics of her on her way!

What fun I had in the Bay Area today. We got to see some nice yachts, the Bay, a BIG train, an old tunnel and a historic relic! What a Blast! I'm off soon to my next adventure, so keep checking back to see what other fun I have!

  • WOW! That's what I want to be when I grow up! I got to go see this ALCO switching engine up close - He tooted his horn and the crew whistled and waved at me as they went by!
