[LV] Austras koks latviešu mitoloģijā ir kā vienkāršots pasaules uzbūves modelis. Koka saknes saistīja ar pazemes pasauli. Stumbrs – vidus pasaule, kurā dzīvo cilvēki, dzīvnieki un citas dzīvas būtnes. Koka lapotne tika saistīta ar debesu pasauli. Austras koka lapas bija no sudraba, saknes no vara, bet zari no zelta. Parasti šis koks bija ozols. Austras koka zīme sargā dzimtu, ģimeni, savieno ar Dievu, dod spēku un padomu.
[ENG] Tree of Austra (also- tree of life, tree of sun) is siplified scheme of the structure of world in latvian mythology. The roots of the tree symbolises underground world, trunk- the "middle world"- where are the people, animals and plants are living, the branches stands for the heaven kingdom, the world above. The leaves of the tree were made of silver, roots from copper and branches from gold. Usually the tree is oak. The symbol of the tree protects family, connects with god, gives strenght and wisdom.
