This trackable has the goal to circulate more than five years and to be moved by more than 25 cachers. That is a rate of five drops per year for five years, or a drop every 73 days. As of 2-May-21 it had survived for 2.8 years and had been moved by 14 cachers, for an average release every 72 days.
No permission is needed to leave the U.S. While in the U.S., please drop it in a Premium Member only OR a rural cache near a busy trail or road. Do not place it in an urban cache or abandon it at a caching event where there is no security. Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items. Otherwise, take the trackable anywhere you wish.
This is one of a series of large beads obtained from different places and converted into travel bugs. They are named for Texas towns with interesting names or histories. Much of the text is from the online Handbook of Texas or texasescapes.com.
Blanket is in eastern Brown County. According to some accounts Blanket Creek was named in 1852 by a group of surveyors who came upon a band of Tonkawa Indians who had been caught in a downpour and had spread their blankets over sumac bushes near the creek for protection. Later the name was transferred to the community that developed on its banks. A post office was established in 1875. When the Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railroad was extended from Comanche to Brownwood in 1891, Blanket was moved from its former site to its present location. It had a population of 304 in 1904 and in 2000 the population had increased to 402.

Eigentlich wollte ich den TB bei der Wanderung in der schönen Rhön ablegen, aber das habe ich verpasst. So hat er mich nur auf der Tour begleitet undich werde bestimmt woanders einen schönen Cache für ihn finden.
I actually wanted to take the TB off the hike in the beautiful Rhön, but I missed that. So he only accompanied me on the tour and I will definitely find a nice cache for him somewhere else.
