7:47pm FTF WooHoo!!! We have been out of the game for a long time and are slowly trying it out once again. Not going hog wild like we use to do, but getting out there some. I turned on e-mail and seen this new one with no logs yet. That brought back some memories and going ape and doing what ever it took to get the FTF. Seeing as we are getting older and all, this one won't have a wild log saying how we went 145MPH to the cache. Nope, we kept the speed well under 120. The tires on the GeoVan are very worn and I didn't feel comfortable going much faster on that curvy road. We got to the cache site and did a power slide right up to within 10 feet of ground zero. We had our grand daughter with us this time and she already had the side door open (been taking lessons from our youngest daughter). She jumped out and hopped to the cache spot, bent over and let out a loud "BOOO YAAAA!" She came back to the GeoVan and we opened up the cache to find no signatures yet. We all high fived each other, signed the log and replaced the cache. Ya, we still got it!

FTF!!! Woo Hoo. I actualy tried for this one a couple days ago with no luck. For some reason that day my GPS was not wanting to help out at all. Once I got to the cache site my GPS lost all reception and was totaly useless. I just went off the cache description and the hint and went to where it sounded like the cache was at. I looked all around, high, low, inside, outside, under and everywhere else I could think off. I even went up on the hill some in search of the cache. Lots of stickers and poision ivy around and I was sure I avoided it all, but still couldn't find the cache. The wife needed the Geo Van so she could get to work so I called the search off and headed home with my tale between my legs. When I got home I e-mailed the cache owner in hopes of a little more insight into this cache. I got a reply the next day saying that he changed the hint. I looked at the new hint and went DOH! I was right there. I should have known to look there first, but the old hint had me some place else. The first chance we got the wife and I headed back for a second try. This time the GPS was working just fine and got great reception. Back the horse up a minute here, now I understand what the wife was laughing at the other day. I came upstairs and seen her putting down my GPS and she had a huge grin on her face. When I asked her what was so funny, she just blew it off and made some off remark about how she was just thinking of a joke she heard the other day. Ya, right. That woman sabotaged my GPS! She had to have, I'm not sure how she did it, but it's working fine now that she is with me. So what if I had to replace the batteries on the way home the other day because they died on me, weak batteries won't cause bad reception will it? I didn't think so, you just wait woman, payback is headed your way. Anyways, the wife got out of the van and walks right to where the cache was hiding and said "it's right here, what seems to be the problem" and then she laughed ever so lightly and looked away. Ya woman, I'm on to you now. She opened up the cache, signed the log and replaced the cache where she found it. I had to ask her if we got the FTF and all she said was "Duh, I found it didn't I" and smiled. Oh it's on now...the gloves have come off....TFTC.

FTF!!! Woo Hoo. I was sitting at the house playing some World of Warcraft and getting my kill on when I got an alert to a new cache. I quickly logged out of WoW and onto Geocaching web site. Sure enough, actualy 2 new caches up and not that far away from the house. Time to go into FTF mode and score some finds. I quickly d-loaded all the info into the GPS and out the door I ran. Got in the Geo Van and headed for this cache. I know there use to be a cache here before so I knew exactly where to go. Nice open roads around this time of the day so the Geo Vans turbos were pumping out the power the entire trip. I got to the cache site and found the area completely void of muggles. This made my search a lot easier. I parked within 5 feet of the cache, at least that's what the GPS said. I got out and started my intense search. OUCH....man that thing is sharp....OUCH....dag nabbit....sun of a *&@$@! Ok, time to slow down and stop just shoving my hands into the bushes. This is starting to hurt and draw blood. About 3 minutes later and another 14 finger/hand pricks later I had the cache in hand. And yes, I did park about 5 feet from the cache so the coords are dead accurate. I opened up the cache and seen a nice clean log sheet Woo Hoo!!! I quickly signed the log, took the geocoin and put in 2AA batteries for my trade. Kind of funny though, I was able to put the cache back without getting stuck once and now that I know where the cache is at, I could have retrieved it without getting stuck in the first place.....Oh well, that's the life of a FTF hunter. FTF!!! Woo Hoo. I was just getting out of the shower when I got the "you have mail" alert. I checked and seen a new cache up and it was very close the house. We have to get this one, we would never live this down if someone beat us to a cache this close to the house. As I was downstairs and still tying to get dressed, I called upstairs to the wife to let her know a new cache is up. When she answered the phone "why are you calling me, im sleeping, I worked last night, don't you have any kindness left in your body?" I just told her "I love you too baby, there is a new cache up less than a mile from the house". That's when I was hung up on and could hear cursing and stuff being knocked over and it sounded like a bunch of kids running around upstairs. Oh wait, guess I shouldn't have left all those boxes next to the bed that I was going through last night. I don't think there was anything breadable in them. Oh well, by the time I was dressed the wife was already in the van yelling "LET'S GET A MOVE ON!" I told the wife to check her phone for the cache details and stuff just to make sure but I was certain I knew where this cache was at and I was already on the way. About a 30 seconds later she tells me im going the wrong direction. What? Can't be. Sure enough, looks like the cache isn't where I thought it was going to be. Just so others know, this cache is NOT near Buffalo Trail. So I quickly turned around and had to listen to the nagrivator call out directions to the cache. Once we got close I understood the cache name. I parked, got out and ran over to the cache area. Oh wow, guess I should have looked at the cache description a little closer because this is NOT a micro at all as I was expecting. Ya, this is a full size cache to say the least. I like it! I took the cache container back to the Geo Van for inspection. I opened it up, looked at the log book, WOO HOO!!! We did our trades and quickly put the cache container back where we found it. TFTC.

FTF!!! Woo Hoo. This makes the second FTF of the night. By the time we got to this one it was very dark and very late. Then again we love doing night caching as it a lot cooler and generaly don't have any muggles to worry about. We parked the Geo Van, read the cache description one last time, grabbed the flashlights and headed for the cache. We got to where the GPS was saying 10 feet and started looking. I told the wife the GPS was saying it's about 20 feet away so she would go away from me so I could set up a little joke I had planed for her. She went on her search and I reached into my cache bag and pulled out a long black rubber snake that I had bought for just such an instance. I tied some fishing string onto the head of it and put the fake snake under some leaves and branches. I uncoilded the string about 15 feet away and got ready. Then I told the wife that the GPS is saying it's over here now. She turned around and started walking right for the trap that I had just made. She got close and I started pulling the fishing line and the large snake at my wife. She was looking around with her flash light and that's when she yelled out "GOT IT". HEHE, wait, what did she just say? I shined my flashlight at her and she is bent down taking the lid off the cache. What? I start to walk over to her and she tells me "watch out or you might step on your fake snake". What? But how did...oh come on. Come to find out I was so set on getting my wife with the fake snake trick that I wasn't looking for the cache and actualy put the snake about a foot from the cache. Crap, I guess she got me on this one. Oh well, as long as we got the FTF that's all that matters. The wife checks out the log, gives me the thumbs up and we both let out a Woo HOO and got up and did the MDC FTF dance in the dark woods. Time to find some other caches in the area. TFTC
