I am the Unicorn of the sea please don't keep me, move me on. My owners are travelling to the Isle of Wight at the end of July 2017 and my mission is to travel from cache to cache southwards from Northamptonshire and to be in a cache on the Isle of Wight by the time my owners arrive. It'd be great to have pictures on the log of the different places I've seen.
My companion is an Ammonite which swam in the sea around 170million years ago and came to rest on the sea floor of what is now known as the Jurrasic coast of Great Britain where it was covered by sediment. Over millions and millions of years it was mineralised until it became a perfectly preserved fossil ready to be discovered as part of the puzzle of life of Earth. My owners bought this fossilised sea creature during a Dorset holiday in 2016 and thought it would be nice for me to take it on tour for people (big and small) to discover, handle, think about and hopefully go on to learn about this and other early life of our planet.
