About This Item

For over 50 years, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel has captured worldwide attention as a modern engineering wonder and an important East Coast travel convenience. Crossing over and under open waters where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, the Bridge-Tunnel provides a direct link between Southeastern Virginia and the Delmarva Peninsula (DELaware plus the Eastern Shore counties in MARyland and VirginiA).

Following its opening on April 15, 1964, the Bridge-Tunnel was selected as “One of the Seven Engineering Wonders of the Modern World”.  In addition, it was distinguished as “The Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement” by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Over 116 million commercial and passenger vehicles have crossed the Bridge-Tunnel system.

So, when traveling on the East Coast, enjoy the scenic 20 mile drive across the mouth of the famous Chesapeake Bay via a  series of bridge, tunnel, bridge, tunnel, bridge which combine to form the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel system.

Grabbing a cache or two during Bike Brookfield Week.(http://cyclebrookfield.com/events/bikebrookfieldweek/)

The theme was "Brookfield, then and now!" It was a self-guided bike tour of locations of significant locations in Brookfield. Many of the sites were long gone, but the history remains.

We did just over 20 miles and visited all 18 stops. I used the geocaching Cachetur trip planner to find the best route and added a few geocaches. We only tried for two, one was missing and the other was an easy find.

Our time with each other is coming to an end. West Bend $1000 Cache Ba$h 2023 is August 11 - 13. We'll find a good home for you there and hopefully more nice folk can move you along your journey.

Spent the day at Russell Military Museum with my son. Saw some neat vehicles, a parade, car crushing, had a tank ride, and ate some good tacos. If you're ever in Chicagoland, it's worth a visit.

This was a VERY cool cache! Kiddo loved it. We had to dash out quickly because we found. A tick on his arm. Will have to revisit with mom.
