This travel bug’s mission is to visit my known maternal ancestors' origins by traveling to the USA, Tahiti, Raiatea, France, England, Denmark and Ireland

British Isles: the plaque for Tyburn Gallows at Marble Arch; Great Yarmouth; Kennford; sites of significance to the London Missionary Society in London; Maidstone, Kent; Portsea, Hampshire (England); Sligo, Dublin; Trinity College in Dublin (Ireland)

Australia: Ryde; sites of significance to the convicts of whom I can count 3 as my great great great great great grandparents (Sydney)

France: Hesdin, Pas-de-Calais; Ardres, Pas de Calais; Lille, Pas-de-Calais

French Polynesia: Taputapuatea marae (Raiatea), Hamuta Valley, any sites significant to the London Missionary Society (Tahiti), Huahine, Borabora

USA: ports of San Francisco; East Le Moine, Maine; Trenton, Hancock County, Maine; Eastham, Barnstable, Massachussets; Plymouth Harbour and sites of significance to the Mayflower pilgrims

Denmark: Korsor

Bermuda: sites of significance to the "Sea Venture" which shipwrecked there in 1609, precursor to the "Mayflower"

Netherlands: Leiden

What better way to combine my interests of geocaching, travel, history and geneology! My mother's ancestors are flung far and wide, and my ancestors were brave souls who often immigrated into unknown lands.

The jandal (also known as a thong or flip-flop depending on your country of origin) represents the footsteps that led to the establishment of her family in New Zealand.
