To visit the giraffes in the National Zoo in Washington DC, and then return to Fort Worth, Texas. And do it all faster than it takes my friend, Aahnold, to go to San Diego and back.

Dubya heading East



My name is Dubya. I’m a giraffe Travel Bug. I am in a race against Aahnold, who is also a giraffe TB (read about him on his page titled Aahnold And Dubya.

I want to travel east all the way to Washington DC, visit the National Zoo, get my photograph taken with the giraffes there, and then make it all the way back to a cache in Fort Worth, Texas. Like I said, I’m in a race against Aahnold. He’s doing the same thing, but he’s going west to the San Diego Zoo.

Those western giraffes are okay, but the eastern giraffes are hip!

Headed out from NCAR and it took us awhile to find it because we were suffering from battery deprived GPS. However it was a great time because us grandkids got to take our grandparents on the first ever hunt. Not bad at 70+ years old and still hiking. So we now have the infamous Dubya and he can expect to get some elevation gain to our own site in the mountains of Colorado near a very busy tourist area. Hopefully this will give him a better chance to meet his goal of heading to the Washington DC zoo to meet his friends. Hopefully his pal Aahnold will not beat the pace.
