Hello! I'm Liverlips' Very Awesome Camino de Santiago Scallop Geocoin! I have taken on the mission of being discovered by anyone and everyone present where Liverlips goes, including walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela! Ever since she read the article (in volume 7, issue 3 [2016] of FTF Geocacher magazine) on Groundspeak lackey Annie Love's caching trip along the Camino, Liverlips has vowed to make it her life's purpose to do the same! Who wouldn't want to? It's 1) a workout 2) on vacation 3) spent caching 4) with like-minded people 5) while immersed in medieval history 6) with a chance to purify one's soul at the end! Please encourage Liverlips not to back down on this commitment by discovering me wherever I turn up!
I'm an awesome-looking large geocoin in the shape of the Camino shell, a white scallop shell with yellow trim and a red Cross of St. James. My origin predates Christianity and theories on my symbolism are many and varied, but I am universally known as the symbol of pilgrimage along the diverse Camino routes to Santiago, Spain. As designed by Keith Petrus (TheFTFGuy), I display on my reverse the words "Buen Camino!" (a greeting between pilgrims wishing each other a good trip), the dates of his personal Camino (October 14-November 14, 2016), and the names of the eleven members of his "Camino family," individuals whom he met and walked with during his journey. Won't you all be my and Liverlips' "pre-Camino family" by discovering me?
