P&H 206 has spent the last 80 years rusting away on top of a hill North of Simi Valley California. As a tribute the P&H 206 Travel Bug was born. Since he was created on the peak of a mountain his mission is to go from mountain peak to mountain peak. Pictures of P&H 206 in action are always welcome.
This is an email reply from P&H, the company that built the original shovel. I sent them a photo of the shovel for S&G.
Thank you so much for this extraordinary image of a P&H 206!
Our company built Model 206 machines during the 1920s and
1930s. They were offered in shovel configuration, such as the
machine you discovered in Southern California, and also in
construction crane, dragline, clamshell, pile driver and backhoe
options.
It is amazing to behold such a well-preserved Model 206.
The arid environment must be a factor. Thank you for sharing
